Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 basic yoga postures, performed in 105° heat and 38% humidity for 90 minutes. The sequence of poses is set, and the teachers follow an established script, so you'll get a near identical experience at any Bikram class, anywhere in the world.

Good to Know

You'll sweat buckets - don't forget water and a towel.

Classes are often extremely busy, with yoga mats placed close together to fit everyone in.

Modesty isn't a theme at Bikram Yoga and students often work out in just a sports bra and/or shorts.

Anyone looking for a detoxifying, sweaty workout with goals of weightloss and body tone.


Bikram Yoga is named for its inventor, Bikram Choudhury, a former National Yoga Champion of India. Choudhury selected and developed 26 poses from traditional Hatha Yoga. Bikram Yoga became popular in LA in the early 70s, and has now spread worldwide.
