Iyengar Yoga is renowned for its attention to precise alignment and deliberate sequencing. There's a strong focus on alignment and precision in every pose, so you'll learn how to use props; like blocks and straps to correctly align your own unique body. Iyengar yoga systematically works every part of your body, building strength and superb yoga foundation.
Good to Know
You'll get lots of very detailed instruction and individual adjustments, then stay in the pose for quite a long time.
Iyengar yoga's standards of teacher training are extremely high and put great emphasis on continuous study for teachers. Iyengar Yoga teachers seriously know their stuff.
Avoid wearing long, flowing trousers to class. Stick with form fitting clothing so your teacher can see your alignment clearly.

Iyengar Yoga was founded by B.K.S. Iyengar, acknowledged as one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world. Iyengar started to teach in the early 30s, and, now in his 90s, continues to practice today.
