Pilates Equipment classes take place in a specially designed studio. You'll exercise with specialised pieces of apparatus, designed to give both resistance and support to the body. The resistance created by the equipment provides a challenging strength and endurance workout, with quick and noticeable results.
Many experts recommend that beginners get a grounding with Mat classes, then incorporate Pilates Equipment into their practice later.
Good to Know
Classes using apparatus offer a higher level of individual attention but they're usually more expensive.
Like yoga, Pilates classes are usually done barefoot.
