Viniyoga is a therapeutic, individuliased style of teaching, tailoring poses, breathing techniques and sequences to the needs of each student. Movement is linked to the breath and you'll move in and out of poses before holding them, warming the muscles that you'll use in the pose.
Good to Know
Viniyoga takes a 'function over form' approach to yoga poses, so everything is adapted specially for you - important if you're working with injury or physical limitations.
Who's it for?
Accessible for every body type and every level of ability.
Krishnamacharya's son T.K.V. Desikachar is the world's foremost Viniyoga authority. Gary Kraftsow, founder of the American Viniyoga Institute, is the most prominent American proponent of Desikachar's method.
