Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga focuses on lengthening connective tissue and is deeply relaxing and meditative. Yin poses are passive, meaning you relax the muscles and let gravity do all the work.

Good to Know

Be ready for long poses, as they can be held for 5 to 20 minutes each.

Resisting the urge to move for long periods of time can be a challenge, and a good opportunity to quiet the mind.

Who's it for?

Anyone open to a slow and simple practice.

Origins

Yin Yoga as we know it today was created by Paul Grilley in the 1990s.
