I’ve been practicing yoga since 1998 and in 2012 qualified as a Yoga Teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga. Since the beginning of my Yoga journey I have practiced a number of different styles of Yoga and I’ve also had the privilege of attending workshops and classes of notable teachers including Alan Brown, John Scott, Matthew Sweeney and Granville Cousins. I also currently regularly practice Kundalini Yoga, which was introduced to me in 2011. My classes are suitable for all ages, ability and experience and are for those who wish to gain a better understanding of their body and how the breath can be used to energise or calm the body and mind. Coupled with this, my influences have also come from Ashtanga Yoga and I will be introducing classes next year that combine stronger poses and vinyasa flow. From leading an active sporting life myself, I’m passionate about using Yoga to complement sport activities and our everyday living. Whatever sport you do, be it golf, running, cycling, horse-riding, hiking/walking or swimming, Yoga can help improve posture, keep joints flexible, and stretch and lengthen tight muscles. Even if you don’t partake in sports, using Yoga to improve posture in your everyday life such as the car, working at a desk, walking up the stairs, cleaning and gardening, can be a great benefit! Try it and see! I love practicing and teaching Yoga and I strongly believe that Yoga should be accessible to everyone.
